We use an individual’s BMR to form any nutritional plan.
BMI is a measure of body weight based on weight in kg divided by height in meters squared. High BMI indicates high body fatness, which may lead to health problems. It is not diagnostic of body fatness or health.
Basal Metabolic Rate refers to the number of calories that your body requires to function while at rest. BMR is also known as your body's metabolism. Therefore, any increase in your metabolic weight, such as through exercise, will lead to an increase in your BMR. To calculate your BMR, you just need to input your height, gender, age and weight in the given fields. Once you have determined your BMR, you can start to keep track of the number of calories you need to consume per day in order to maintain or lose weight.
